Wonder Woman 1984

While Steve Trevor plays second fiddle to Diana Prince as a hero, he made quite the impression in Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman. Not only did he show Diana that the world is a dangerous place, but he also helped her find her own hope and faith in humanity despite the odds. That’s why his death hit us just as hard as Mufasa’s in The Lion King.

Jenkins, though, isn’t closing the door on the possibility of Trevor returning in the future, saying in an interview with Fandango, “It’s very hard to know which characters will be in the next movie because of the time period, so it’s a big question.” Actor Chris Pine, meanwhile, added, “The movie’s gotta come out, and then we’ll see. What about Wonder Man?”

In reality, Trevor has died many times before and been resurrected in the comics countless times, so the DCEU is wise to keep its cards close to its chest with regards to Pine’s return. The big question is, will Trevor make a return in Flashpoint or Wonder Woman 2? The former seems like the most likely option, but we’ll have to see.
