Amanda Seyfried Reunites With Seth MacFarlane For Ted 2

It looks like Seth MacFarlane and Amanda Seyfried had a good time working together on A Million Ways To Die In The West, as the actress has now signed on for MacFarlane's next film, Ted 2. Deadline is the one reporting the news and they tell us that Seyfried will have the female lead, with Mila Kunis (who was the female lead in Ted), only taking a small role in the upcoming sequel.

It looks like Seth MacFarlane and Amanda Seyfried had a good time working together on the funnyman’s upcoming comedy Western A Million Ways To Die In The West, as the actress has now signed on for MacFarlane’s next film, sequel Ted 2. Deadline reports that Seyfried will play the lead female role in the film, with Ted star Mila Kunis only returning for a brief part.

Though it’s certainly sad news that Kunis won’t be as involved in Ted 2 as she was in the original film (apparently due to creative decisions made by MacFarlane, not anything more scandalous), Seyfried’s involvement means that the comedian is simply substituting one strong actress for another.

Seyfried has wowed critics and audiences throughout her career with leading roles in a variety of challenging projects, from Tom Hooper’s ambitious, acclaimed Les Misérables to provocative biopic Lovelace. Given how many genres the young actress has already traversed, it’s not that surprising that she wants to further strengthen her comedic chops by continuing to work with MacFarlane.

No plot details have been revealed just yet for Ted 2, but word is that the actress will play the love interest for Mark Wahlberg’s protagonist. MacFarlane will also star as the voice of loud-mouthed teddy bear Ted, and Jessica Barth is rumored to return as the equally filthy Tami-Lynn.

I’m definitely looking forward to Ted 2. Seth MacFarlane is one of the finest comedians working out there today by my estimation; despite his penchant for jaw-dropping raunch, MacFarlane also has quite the talent for biting social satire. If Seyfried proved herself to him while they were working together on A Million Ways To Die In The West, then I have absolutely no problem with them working together again.

Ted 2 will land in theaters on June 26th, 2015. Are you happy to hear that Amanda Seyfried is joining the film? Sound off below!
