The reason for Thanos picking up a new weapon isn’t clear at the moment, as in Avengers: Infinity War the Mad Titan was so confident in his victory that he cast off his armor to fight the Hulk and the rest of the assembled heroes. Perhaps now that the Infinity Gauntlet appears to be burned out following his use of it to wipe out half of all life, Thanos will arm himself with this deadly double-edged sword in order to ensure that he’s not bested and his dream of a balanced universe is upheld.

Is this just a handy melee weapon though, or does the sword serve another purpose? Some have theorized that this is actually a version of the Infinity Sword, a little-known item from Marvel lore. In The Superhero Squad cartoon, Thanos combines the Infinity Sword with the Infinity Gauntlet to make himself even more powerful. We wouldn’t expect the MCU to draw inspiration from that quirky, oft-maligned show, but this turn of events sort of would make sense in Endgame if the glove really is kaput.

In addition to the Thanos toy, these leaked action figures also give us another look at those new Quantum Realm suits as well as Ronin’s mask. A different batch of toys, meanwhile, unveiled Pepper Potts’ Rescue suit, and we’ll get to see all of these and more in action when Avengers: Endgame blasts into theaters on April 26th.
