Avengers: Infinity War Directors Reveal The One Hero They Would’ve Saved

Many of the galaxy's mightiest protectors perished in the shocking, heartbreaking ending of Avengers: Infinity War - from all of the Guardians (except for Rocket and Nebula) to Doctor Strange and Black Panther. The poster child for the fallen Avengers, though, is Spider-Man. After all, it was only Peter Parker's first day on the job when the lovable teen was turned to dust in his mentor Iron Man's arms.

There was surely no Marvel fan out there who didn’t shed a tear when the wall-crawler met his end in the movie, but what do the men who made it happen, the Russo brothers, think of Spidey’s demise? Well, at a Q&A event held yesterday in Hollywood, the filmmakers were asked by a fan who they would choose to save out of all of the heroes who died in IW. It seems they’d rescue Spidey if they could, an answer which we imagine most folks would agree on.

While we don’t exactly know what his fate’s going to be in Avengers 4, Spidey’s the first hero to get his own film again after Infinity War‘s story wraps up next May. As such, there’s a lot of speculation about where Spider-Man: Far From Home comes in the MCU timeline, with a common theory saying that it’s set before IW. If that’s the case, then we can’t say for certain whether the Russos will resurrect Peter in A4.

However, we’re pretty darn sure they will, as this is Spider-Man we’re talking about and Marvel’s unlikely to retire a cash cow like him anytime soon. At present, it’s thought that time travel will be the key to reversing the effects of Thanos’ fateful finger snap in Infinity War, and maybe we’ll get a sense of how the universe will be saved when the first trailer for Avengers 4 arrives any day now (likely this Friday).
