Avengers: Infinity War Gets The Black Mirror: Bandersnatch Treatment In New Video

As 2018 neared its end, Netflix gave us one last big pop culture moment in the form of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, which drew attention and acclaim for its novel “choose your own adventure” format. But as well as freaking out many an actively engaged viewer, it seems the film inspired one Marvel fan to imagine what Avengers: Infinity War would be like if it offered the same level of interactivity.

Reddit user Anilsoi11 has shared a video labeled, “If infinity War had a ‘Bandersnatch’ option,” which shows the infamous moment where Peter Quill inadvertently thwarts the team’s plan to remove Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet. One key alteration, however, is that viewers are shown to have two options on the course of action taken by Star-Lord. We can either choose for Chris Pratt’s character to “Stay [Calm], save the Universe” or “ACT LIKE A F***ING IDIOT.” Of course, since we don’t have any actual footage of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes removing the Mad Titan’s gauntlet, the video inevitably plays the latter scenario.

Despite directors Anthony and Joe Russo coming to Star-Lord’s defense on more than one occasion, Peter continues to draw the scorn of the fans for failing to keep his cool, rivaling even Thor in the level of blame he takes for the genocide that followed.

Unlike the God of Thunder, however, Peter himself was among the casualties of the universe-wide Decimation that unfolded at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. Still, if an apparent spoiler dropped a few months ago by Guardians of the Galaxy co-star Dave Bautista is anything to go by, then Star-Lord will most likely make a return in Avengers: Endgame when the film hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
