Might We See A New Line-Up For Avengers: Infinity War Teased In Civil War Post-Credits Scenes?

Following their double-whammy of Cap action directing both The Winter Soldier and Civil War, the Russo Brothers are taking over from Joss Whedon in Marvel's Big Tentpole. That's right. You've probably already heard that the duo will be tackling the two-part spectacle, Avengers: Infinity War and if that's of interest, you may know that the movie is going to have a mammoth amount of characters. Seriously, it's making Civil War's chocked roster look like a poorly-attended birthday party.

Following their double-whammy of Cap action directing both The Winter Soldier and Civil War, the Russo Brothers are taking over from Joss Whedon in Marvel’s Big Tentpole. That’s right. You’ve probably already heard that the duo will be tackling the two-part spectacle, Avengers: Infinity War and if that’s of interest, you may know that the movie is going to have a mammoth amount of characters. Seriously, it’s making Civil War‘s chocked roster look like a poorly-attended birthday party.

Getting thrown into that mix are a few new characters, as the Russos recently revealed to Forbes:

“(There are) new characters that are going to appear in Avengers: Infinity War,” says Joe. “It’s a big sprawling ambitious movie, it’s about as ambitious as movies get and it should be, and the title alone indicates that there will be an incredible scape and scope to it…”

“It is intended to be the entire culmination of the Marvel cinematic universe and, in many ways, the end to that part of it,” Anthony adds. “But we don’t even have the first draft in on that script yet; we’re still in the outline phase. It’s hard not to talk about it too specifically now only because of spoilers but also because we’re still figuring it out. We have an idea but let’s see if that evolves over the next couple of months.”

When pushed to spill the beans on the post-credits scenes for Civil War – and whether any of these new characters would be introduced – the duo had this to say:

“We can’t say who is going to be in it, but we can say that there certainly could be one, or two, maybe three. We can confirm that you should stay sat in your seats when the movie is done.”

It’s easy to understand their reticence in dropping major spoilers like that with over a month to go until the movie hits theaters. Typically when a Marvel flick opens, details on any credit cameos hit the web within a matter of hours. So it’s not as if they need any help in that area.

And, we already know that it’s likely the main superhero team will undergo a massive overhaul by the end of Avengers: Infinity War. It makes sense that we’d already be a little familiar with those newbies before that happens, so a cameo at the end of Civil War would be the perfect introduction.
