Ever since Batgirl pitched up in Glasgow, we’ve been inundated with set photos that could be interpreted as spolierific in nature, teasing all sorts of characters and plot points that could prove integral to the story.
With that in mind, it’s little surprise that Warner Bros. have decided to get ahead of the game and reveal an official first look at Barbara Gordon in full costume, with star Leslie Grace getting the honor of sharing the image on her Twitter account.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg did something similar, unveiling the brand new costumes of the sequel’s heroes in an effort to prevent fans from getting their first glimpse of Billy Batson and the gang’s new duds via grainy cellphone snaps, and you can check out Grace’s Batgirl for the first time below.
It’s nothing if not comic-accurate, and should generate plenty of additional buzz for Batgirl as shooting continues. With the title hero’s outfit now there for all the world to see, don’t be surprised if the next batch of pictures to emanate from the set revolve around an action sequence now that the studio has played its hand.
Batgirl doesn’t have a release date as of yet, but all signs point to the DCEU’s first HBO Max exclusive arriving before the end of 2022.
