Burn Notice’s Jeffrey Donovan Joins J. Edgar

Burn Notice star Jeffrey Donovan has joined Clint Eastwood's upcoming film J. Edgar. After appearing in Eastwood's Changeling, it seems as if the two worked well and so Eastwood cast him in his latest. Donovan will play the role of Bobby Kennedy. There is no word on how large or significant the role will be but it probably won't be too prominent. Still, it's a nice break for Donovan and I'm happy to see him getting the attention he deserves. He's a great actor and I love his show Burn Notice so I'm excited that he'll be in the film.

Burn Notice star Jeffrey Donovan has joined Clint Eastwood’s upcoming film J. Edgar. After appearing in Eastwood’s Changeling, it seems as if the two worked well together and so Eastwood has cast him in J. Edgar. Donovan will play the role of Bobby Kennedy. There is no word on how large or significant the role will be but it probably won’t be too prominent. Still, it’s a nice break for Donovan and I’m happy to see him getting the attention he deserves. He’s a great actor and I love his show Burn Notice so I’m excited that he’ll be in the film.

Donovan joins a superb cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprioNaomi WattsJosh Lucas, Ed Westwick and Judi Dench. Also starring will be The Social Network‘s Armie Hammer who will play the controversial role of Hoover’s supposed gay lover and colleague, Clyde Tolson. Much has been talked about recently on how much the relationship between them will be explored, it is after all written by Oscar winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, who wrote the story of gay official Harvey Milk.

This one is shaping up to be a serious Oscar contender, and by looking at the cast and crew, you can see why. Expect this one to be a heavy hitter during the Awards season once it comes out. There is no official release date yet but it’s expected this fall.
