Deadline has reported that Camilla Belle is Legendary Entertainment and Alex Proyas’ choice for the lead role of Eve in Paradise Lost. Within minutes of this news The Hollywood Reporter released an article stating that Ben Affleck‘s kid brother, Casey Affleck, is in negotiations to star as the angel Gabriel in the film.

This comes as quite interesting news, not just because of the fact that these two great young actors could be joining one of the most anticipated projects of 2013, but also because Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter published these articles, and the two are currently in a lawsuit over copyright violation.

Paradise Lost also stars Bradley Cooper as Lucifer,  Djimon Hounsou as Abdiel and Benjamin Walker as archangel Michael, in the film based on John Milton epic poem. As for the role of Adam, Variety reports that Rock Of Ages actor Diego Boneta is frontrunner to take the role, while IMDb has Aldo Quintino listed as the actor who will play the first man on earth. Rufus Sewell is also rumoured to be in talks to join the project.

The poem, which is recognised as one of the greatest pieces of literature known to man, describes the story of  Satan’s fall from grace the and war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer.

Paradise Lost is aiming to begin shooting in January in Sydney, Australia, for a release in 2013.
