Cate Blanchett recently revealed that she’s planning to take some time off from acting in order to concentrate on her family, and that’s led to a lot of fans questioning whether or not those reports about her starring in Thor: Ragnarok are going to pan out.

Asked in a recent interview if she’ll be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actress revealed:

“I would love that. I’d love to get fit and punch people.”

While those comments aren’t exactly confirmation, it’s clear that she’s interested, so hopefully we’ll get confirmation from Marvel Studios about her role in the movie fairly soon. There’s been a lot of talk about her possibly playing Enchantress, but no specific character details have actually been revealed as of yet; she definitely seems like the obvious choice for Thor: Ragnarok‘s big bad, though.

What We Do in the Shadows co-director Taika Waiti is taking the helm of Thor: Ragnarok, while it was recently revealed that Stephany Folsom was recently hired to pen the script. Chris Hemsworth will obviously be reprising the role of Thor and Tom Hiddleston is expected to return as Loki, though there’s no word on who else might be coming back to the franchise.

Thor: Ragnarok is currently set to be released on November 3rd, 2017, so we should hear more about the plot and cast in the coming months.
