Creepy Verse On Insidious Chapter 3 Teaser Poster Promises More Sleepless Nights

Production is in full swing on Insidious Chapter 3, and the first teaser poster for the third instalment in the Wan-Whannell franchise has landed. Appearing earlier today on the official Insidious Twitter account, it's a trifle different to your normal teaser imagery. Whereas typically a preview poster might include the film's title, a date, and the word "Soon" - ooooh, tantalising! - the team over at Focus have taken time to begin the mythology. With a really, really, creepy verse. Check it out below.

Set for release next Spring, the third flick has attracted a new cast for a shift away from the Lamberts of the first two flicks. Set before those events, Chapter 3 will take place when “a twisted new tale of terror begins for a teenage girl and her family, predating the haunting of the Lambert family in the earlier movies and revealing more mysteries of the otherworldly realm The Further.”

With Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne out of the picture, Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott have stepped in to star. Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson and writer-director Whannell will all reprise their roles.

The Insidious series has built itself into a brand name, being a horror title that’s instantly recognizable as brilliantly executed by director James Wan and his writing partner, Leigh Whannell. Their chilling approach to scares had been sorely lacking in the genre for some time and crowds continued to return for repeat viewings because it shied away from your typical blood-n-guts, cat-scare mentality. Let’s hope that the third film in this beloved franchise can keep the momentum going.

Insidious Chapter 3 is set to open in theatres on May 29th, 2015.
