Ever since Daniel Craig starred in Casino Royale in 2006, he’s done something amazing for the James Bond franchise. He brought an astonishing sense of realism and grittiness to the role that had never been seen before.

It turns out it was just what the Bond films needed as his first outing turned out to be one of the best entries in the series. It’s true that his second entry, Quantum of Solace, didn’t go so well, but Craig still did a fine job.

Today, thanks to The Film Stage, we’ve received the outstanding piece of news that Craig has been confirmed for at least two more James Bond films. After Skyfall, he will star in Bond 24 and Bond 25.

Apparently, Sony Pictures is hoping to get Bond 24 into theaters sometime in 2014, which is merely two years away, but this might just be too much for EON Productions to handle. Personally, I’m hoping this isn’t the plan, as last time a Bond film was rushed into theaters we got Quantum of Solace.

Craig also recently stated that he won’t be committing to any non-Bond films until after his press rounds for Skyfall are done. What’s interesting is that he has already signed a contract for The Girl Who Played with Fire, so this will probably be one of his first confirmed projects post-Skyfall.

As for now, we can all look forward to seeing James Bond return to action later this year as Skyfall hits theaters on November 9th in the states and on October 26th in the UK.
