Diana Lays Hand On The God Killer In Stunning New Picture For Wonder Woman

Gal Gadot’s fierce heroine Diana Prince lays hand on the God Killer in this stunning new picture for Wonder Woman.

Hailing from Entertainment Weekly, the image above looks to have been pulled from a crucial moment in Patty Jenkins’ origin story, one in which Diana ignores her elders (namely Connie Nielsen’s Queen Hippolyta) to retrieve the God Killer sword, a powerful weapon stowed away deep within the bowels of Themyscira. Once equipped with the blade, Gal Gadot’s title protagonist is all but ready to leave the nest, deciding to plot course for a war-torn Europe to help save humanity from itself.

Leaving what is essentially a sanctuary of peace and harmony has a marked effect on Diana Prince, with Patty Jenkins telling EW that, “this is her moment. She’s heard all the terrible things about man’s land. But she’s also heard that mankind is in need and under duress. This is her great moment to make the decision to be the one to try and save them.”

Looking beyond Warner’ solo Wonder Woman movie, 2017 is shaping up to be a defining year for Gadot’s Amazonian Warrior, as she’s also set to appear alongside her fellow DC heroes for Zack Snyder’s Justice League. It’s due to open in late November, but that hasn’t stopped the studio from drumming up excitement ahead of schedule, after rolling out an action shot earlier this week featuring Diana (Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader.

Wonder Woman graces theatres on June 2, 2017.
