2) Telling Kids To Get Naked – Aladdin
Okay, this might be the one entry on the list that draws the most ire. Truth is, this one is the reason I wrote this list in the first place. It’s also the one that IÂ experienced in real life as a teenager and was blown away by when I first discovered it.
A friend of mine insisted that there was a line about “taking off your clothes” hidden in Aladdin, and I just did not believe it. So, she brought me over one day, popped it in the VCR (the WHAT, say all young kids reading this) and when the scene comes with Aladdin trying to fly up on Jasmine’s shit, she turned the TV REALLY loud. Well, wouldn’t you know it. Sure as shit, something was there. I wasn’t sure what it was, but it definitely wanted me to get naked.
It’s tough to hear for certain, but it definitely sounds like some encouragement towards younger people in the audience to unrobe. Truthfully, this one is just weird and kind of disturbing, and makes me wonder what the animators were thinking when they came up with it.
