Spider-Man fans were left in a tizzy earlier this year when news broke that actor-turned-rapper Donald Glover had landed a role in Marvel’s 2017 reboot – is he playing Miles Morales? Or someone else entirely? – so imagine our excitement when we learned that the Homecoming star was also purportedly linked with Disney’s Star Wars Anthology series.

Rumors, of course, but those reports indicated that the House of Mouse was eyeing the Community actor for the role of a young Lando Calrissian opposite Alden Ehrenreich in the upcoming Han Solo spinoff, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s origin story poised to shine a light on the beloved smuggler.

Without an official statement from Disney to report on, speculation only continues to pervade the four corners of the Internet, leading to Donald Glover himself weighing in on the rumors while chatting with Time (via Polygon). Dancing around a straight answer, the actor responded with:

“There are rumors. I mean, I grew up on [Star Wars]. My dad was a big fan. I had all the toys when I was little. I had a Darth Vader with the lightsaber he has. It was cool. It’s a dynasty. It’s like the bible. I love that franchise.”

Hardly a confirmation, but Glover doesn’t necessarily rubbish the reports outright, which could be sign that he actually has held talks with Disney over the possibility of joining Lord and Miller’s offshoot. That, or he’s simply having some fun while under the spotlight.

Then again, we know that the actor has long expressed his desire to feature in a Star Wars movie, not to mention the fact that casting is seemingly underway for the part of young Lando. It’s now up to Disney and Lucasfilm to stand up and take notice. Though there may be a similar mystery cloaking his role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, we know that Jon Watts’ all-star reboot will swing into theaters on July 7, 2017 and could well go down as the best Spidey film yet.
