Warner Bros. are taking zero chances when it comes to the possibility of ANYONE IN THE UNIVERSE not being aware of Man Of Steel. With just over a month to go before the film lands in cinemas, WB are stepping up their game. By bombarding every form of media outlet with multiple formats of marketing material…you’re gonna know about Superman whether you like it or not.

Let’s thank our lucky Kryptons that it’s in the hands of director Zack Snyder. Henry Cavill, the chap donning the rights as Superman, said in a recent interview that Man Of Steel is definitely Snyder’s film. Casting aside all chitter chatter about Christopher Nolan really wielding the most influence over the reboot.

TV screens in the UK this week have had a taste of Steel in the shape of a new TV spot. Adopting Russell Crowe’s narration voiceover, the spot is assembled from previously-seen footage. The exception being this time around there’s a smattering of shots which appear to be of Krypton getting annihilated. A couple of ships saunter in and look to be crashing into/blowing up a planet that ain’t Earthy. Check it out below.

Not like we didn’t already know that. Man Of Steel is a Superman origin story, which aims to fill in what happened to the lad. Hang on, here’s the official synopsis:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Set to land in five weeks time, the film has a damn fine cast assembled. Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, and Russell Crowe all star. You can scope out their names in a lovely font on the latest poster for the film below.

Man Of Steel soars majestically into cinemas on June 14th.
