Come August 12, Sony Pictures will stage a Sausage Party the likes of which moviegoers have never seen, and a new clip emerging today places the spotlight on frivolous Frankfurter flirting – try saying that one after a few too many jars.
Dreamed up by the bankable creative duo of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Sausage Party imagines a twisted alternate reality where anthropomorphic food unknowingly embrace their death sentence, leaping off shelves, into shopping trollies and, much to their horror, into mouths.
Among the voice cast is Rogen himself, joined by a familiar lineup of old cohorts that includes James Franco, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Salma Hayek, Edward Norton, David Krumholtz, Nick Kroll, Michael Cera, Craig Robinson, Bill Hader, Anders Holm, Paul Rudd and Alien: Covenant star Danny McBride.
Sausage Party will hope to cook up a storm on August 12.
Life is good for all the food items that occupy the shelves at the local supermarket. Frank (Seth Rogen) the sausage, Brenda (Kristen Wiig) the hot dog bun, Teresa Taco (Salma Hayek) and Sammy Bagel Jr. (Edward Norton) can’t wait to go home with a happy customer. Soon, their world comes crashing down as poor Frank learns the horrifying truth that he will eventually become a meal. After warning his pals about their similar fate, the panicked perishables devise a plan to escape from their human enemies.
