Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has officially entered principal photography today in Atlanta, Georgia. To celebrate the beginning of production for the highly-anticipated sequel to the hit 2014 MCU flick, director James Gunn shared a pic of the film’s new logo (seen above).

The logo is found on the back of Gunn’s director’s chair from the set of the movie, which he posted on Facebook alongside the caption, “To quote the great poet David Coverdale, Here I Go Again,” simultaneously hinting at a new song to obsess over in Awesome Mix Vol. 2.

As with most projects in Marvel’s oeuvre, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is largely shrouded in secrecy, although most theories point to the plot somewhat centering around the gang discovering the truth behind the identity of Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) father. Along with Pratt, the other guardians are all returning: Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Drax (Dave Bautista), and Groot (Vin Diesel).

Very early rumors point towards the addition of Kurt Russell to the cast, who will take on the role of Quill’s mysterious dad, while another new addition lies in a character simply named “Mantis,” played by Pom Klementieff.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is expected to hit theaters May 5, 2017, following Captain America: Civil War this May and Doctor Strange in November.
