Hugh Jackman weighs in after Ryan Reynolds confirms that god does in fact hate Wolverine

The long-running trolling campaign just got theological.

Just when you thought the never-ending war of attrition between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman was beginning to quieten down as the pair hit the gym with a vengeance ahead of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Deadpool 3, the man upstairs has been brought into the equation.

Thanks to the recent additions of Emma Corrin and Matthew MacFadyen in top-secret roles – as well as the much-welcomed return of franchise regulars Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams – the Merc with a Mouth’s official debut in the world’s biggest franchise has been riding an increased wave of momentum, not that it needed any with Jackman’s Wolverine finally appearing in the MCU for the first time ever.

Just because they’ll be standing side-by-side on set every day, though, it doesn’t mean the A-list duo will be taking it any easier on each other. In fact, after Reynolds confirmed that a cosplayer’s sign is official canon (to him at least) and god does indeed hate Wolverine, Jackman felt compelled to weigh in with his own two cents on the matter.

Needless to say, we can expect plenty more barbs to be thrown between the two perennial frenemies as we edge closer and closer to the start of production on Deadpool 3, which is comfortably one of – if not the undisputed – most-anticipated project coming down the Multiverse Saga pipeline.

The MCU has been facing criticism the likes of which it has never experienced before, but putting Reynolds and Jackman together in an R-rated comic book caper is surely immune from getting the same treatment. Unless it sucks, which we’re confident it won’t.
