First Image From Yoga Hosers Showcases Two Famous Daughters

They briefly appeared in walrus horror Tusk earlier this year, and now Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp are set to take centre stage in spinoff pic, Yoga Hosers.  The two 15-year olds, daughters of Tusk‘s Kevin Smith and Johnny Depp, will both reprise their convenience store clerk roles for the upcoming movie. The amusingly-named duo, Colleen Collette (Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Smith), are showcased here in the first image from the upcoming film.

The pic has arrived courtesy of THR, who landed the scoop, and shows the two teens in character behind a store counter. In the movie, written and directed by Smith, the pair of Colleens enlist the help of Johnny Depp’s Quebec police officer to battle a long-dormant evil. For a more in-depth look at the plot, here’s a brief synopsis:

The film centers on two teenage yoga nuts who have an after-school job at a Manitoba convenience store called Eh-2-Zed. When an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a 12th-grade party, the Colleens join forces with a legendary man hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe (Depp) to fight for their lives with “all seven chakras, one Warrior Pose at a time,” according to the producers.

Much like Smith’s most recent fare, Red State and Tusk, there’s shades of black comedy that suggest while the filmmaker is venturing into new territory – he’s still gonna keep the laughs coming. That’s no surprise when you consider the extensive supporting cast, which contains several well-known comedians.

Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman and Harley Morenstein are back once again to portray their Tusk roles, and a stream of new jokesters have been added to the mix, including Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey and Jason Mewes.

Currently shooting in Los Angeles, Yoga Hosers will be represented at this week’s American Film Market, and its first trailer is slated to debut at the Berlin Film Festival in February.
