International Trailer For Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Contains A Sliver Of New Footage

Star-Lord and the rest of the gang assemble in the new, international trailer for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

2017 marks a defining year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in that over the next twelve months, moviegoers will be welcoming not one, or two, but three new additions to the company’s lucrative MCU. The first is, of course, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, James Gunn’s galactic sequel that will be followed in quick succession by Spider-Man: Homecoming and the Taika Waititi-directed Thor: Ragnarok.

Barring any unforeseen calamities, 2017 has all the makings of another tour de force for Marvel Studios and James Gunn’s interstellar travelers, once considered the scrappy underdogs of the MCU, will be back with a bang in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. How do we know? Well, for one, lead star Chris Pratt believes Guardians 2 has a chance of becoming the “biggest spectacle movie of all-time.” A bullish claim, no doubt, but if you still find yourself propped on the fence, the sequel’s official international trailer has now beamed online.

Truth be told, it’s essentially the same cut of the film’s first teaser, only with an establishing shot that lingers just a little bit longer before Zoe Saldana’s Gamora leaps into action. Rounding out our core team of space bandits are Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Baby Groot) and Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, who is apparently already knocking people’s socks off at early test screenings.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will make its debut overseas first – Australia on April 25th, the UK on April 28th – before slamming into US theaters on May 5th, 2017. Elsewhere, developer Telltale Games (The Walking Dead, Batman) is currently working on an episodic series based on the spacefaring adventures of Star-Lord and Co. Look for that one to premiere sometime in April.
