What better way to ring in International Women’s Day than with a new and indeed international promo for Wonder Woman?

While the Internet collectively braces itself for the new and seemingly final trailer for Patty Jenkins’ standalone pic, Warner Bros. Brazil has today rolled out yet another teasing promo featuring lead stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine (Captain Steve Trevor) recapping the origin story that awaits on June 2nd. It’ll introduce a younger, more naive Diana Prince than the one seen in last year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which isn’t all that surprising given Warner’s Wonder Woman spinoff largely takes place during the height of World War I, when Western Europe was transformed into a brutal theater of war.

Gal Gadot’s Amazonian catches wind of said conflict after rescuing Steve Trevor from the clear-blue waters of Theymscira, and after collecting the all-powerful God Killer from the island’s golden vaults, decides to muscle her way onto the front lines of The Great War. As a matter of fact, just yesterday we caught a glimpse of Gadot’s heroine going over the top, ready to save humanity from tearing itself apart.

The big question now is, of course, whether Wonder Woman can herald a much-needed shot in the arm for the DC Extended Universe. So far, sources have been split right down the middle, with some claiming Patty Jenkins’ solo pic is little more than a disjointed car crash. Other reports are more upbeat, stating that WW is “good, if not great.”

Wonder Woman graces theaters on June 2nd, and there’s already been chatter of a full-blown sequel. Even if those early talks don’t materialize, fans can always look forward to the advent of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on November 17th, when Gal Gadot’s immortal warrior will be joining forces with Batman (Ben Affleck), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and the Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill.
