The Batman Two-Face

John David Washington Being Eyed To Play Two-Face In The Batman

The latest word on The Batman is that John David Washington, who will soon lead Christopher Nolan's Tenet, is being eyed for Two-Face.

Aside from the casting of the Dark Knight himself, one thing that draws the most attention when it comes to any film featuring the Batman is which villains will show up. The Joker is usually always a lock in order to help boost ticket sales, but with Matt Reeves’ upcoming standalone flick for the Caped Crusader, it doesn’t seem like the Clown Prince of Crime will be involved.

From what we’ve heard so far, the Penguin and the Riddler will both be making appearances, while there’ve also been a lot whispers regarding Catwoman, Scarecrow, Two-Face and Bane, each a crowd-pleaser in their own right. Throw in Firefly and the Mad Hatter as well, and it makes for an awful lot of villains.

Granted, Warner Bros. hasn’t confirmed any of this just yet, so it’s impossible to say with 100% certainty who will feature, but one villain that is looking pretty likely at this point is Harvey Dent aka Two-Face. And according to the folks over at The GWW, John David Washington is being eyed to play him.

What’s interesting, however, is that the outlet notes that Dent is just one possibility, which means Washington could show up as another character when all is said and done. Or, he may not even make it into the film at all. This is far from set in stone and as The GWW says, no formal talks have begun yet.

If the actor does join The Batman, though, he’ll be working once more with Robert Pattinson, as the two stars are now shooting Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, the trailer for which leaked online earlier tonight. It kind of makes you wonder if Nolan’s involved – perhaps unofficially – with Reeves’ film, though, now that it could potentially feature two leads from his upcoming effort.

In any case, Washington is a terrific actor and given that we’ve still yet to see the dichotomous gangster known to comic book and animation enthusiasts, we’re hopeful that The Batman‘s portrayal of Two-Face is one that sticks a bit closer to the source material than previous takes.
