Julia Louis-Dreyfus is sharing some behind-the-scenes photos from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever including one featuring her on-screen ex-husband, Martin Freeman.

While the fantastical kingdoms of Wakanda and Talokan and their rivalry are the main focal points of Wakanda Forever, the film embraces a geopolitical thriller-type plot that also has the United States government entangled in its web. Hence, we get a subplot with Louis Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who is the Director of the CIA in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and her subordinate, Freeman’s Everett Ross. Everett and Valentina were also revealed in the film to be formerly married.

On Instagram, Louis-Dreyfus shared a photo of herself and Freeman, with the caption: “SPOILER ALERT: Me and the Ex. @blackpanther @marvelstudios #wakandaforever#martinfreeman.”

Earlier this past weekend, Louis-Dreyfus also shared a selfie with Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler.

“I love this man. #ryancoogler. Have a great weekend. @blackpanther #wakandaforever @marvelstudios,” Louis-Dreyfus wrote.

In Wakanda Forever, the subplot about Everett and Valentina proved to be one of the less-well-received parts of the film for many. However, the revelation that the pair of U.S. government employees used to be married proved to be a diamond in the rough amidst that portion of the film for some.

“Genuinely the most unexpected and unpredictable part of the movie,” one Reddit user remarked on the r/MarvelStudios subreddit.

“Everett Ross is quickly becoming one of my favorite side characters. Like Coulson,” another Reddit user remarked, in reference to the now-deceased S.H.I.E.L.D. agent character, Clark Gregg’s Phil Coulson.

“Is anyone else disappointed that she wasn’t married to Coulson just because of The New Adventures of Old Christine and their amazing chemistry?” another Reddit user pondered, referencing the fact that Louis-Dreyfus and Gregg happened to co-star as exes in the beloved CBS sitcom.
