Latest Marvel News: Studio talks ‘terrifying’ ‘Black Panther 2’ on-set calamity as Ryan Reynolds promises ‘Deadpool 3’ will be so wrong it’s right

Making Marvel movies shouldn't be a matter of life and death, but sometimes it is.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is enjoying a bit of a high at the moment, following Angela Bassett breaking a major Marvel milestone at the Golden Globes, but things looked much bleaker for the sequel in the wake of a harrowing on-set accident that the studio is now opening up about. Elsewhere, Ryan Reynolds has shared some exciting (we think?) words about Deadpool 3 as Fantastic Four and Young Avengers theorizing reaches a fever pitch. Let’s dive in.

Marvel producer recalls the “scariest” moment of making Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was undoubtedly one of the most taxing Marvel movies to produce, as not only did the cast and crew have to deal with the loss of Chadwick Boseman but new lead Letitia Wright suffered a traumatic injury on set during a botched motorcycle stunt. Producer Nate Moore has since reflected on the incident, which he described as the “scariest” thing that happened during the shoot, calling it a “terrifying” experience. Thankfully, Wright recovered and was eventually able to return to complete filming, delivering a terrific performance to boot.

Deadpool 3 isn’t even filming yet, nor will it arrive on our screens until November 2024, so it’s too early for us to receive any real info on what we can expect. Nevertheless, Ryan Reynolds has supplied us with a cryptic hint about his incoming team-up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, promising that it will be “extraordinarily authentic” to both characters and dropping the curious tease that “two wrongs actually will make a right in a pretty great way.” Now we have two years to work out what the heck he’s talking about.

Fantastic Four could tie into Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania if it ditches Doctor Doom for a different villain

As much as fans want to see Doctor Doom in the MCU, everyone’s praying that Marvel won’t do the boring thing and make him the villain of the Fantastic Four reboot. Galactus is the next most obvious contender, with Mole Man in third, but a new theory wonders if the role of antagonist should go to the more obscure Psycho-Man. The reason why this would make a lot of sense is because he could tie directly into the exploration of the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Hmm…

The MCU’s ideal Iron Lad has been identified, and they’re a very familiar face

Practically all the pieces are on the board for the Young Avengers to assemble, all except the teen team’s leader himself — Iron Lad. Seeing as Nate Richards is a heroic, younger variant of Kang, however, he’s bound to be on his way. And if he is, there’s only one choice for who Marvel should cast in the part. It’s Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin, most known to the world as Lucas Sinclair. He’s about to have a lot of free time on his hands following the Netflix hit’s conclusion, so now would be the time for Kevin Feige to snap him up for the next 10 years of the franchise. You heard it here first.

Don’t go anywhere, Avengers anoraks, as more of the latest Marvel news around will be coming your way tomorrow.
