Mark Hamill Trolls Fans Hard Over Star Wars: Episode IX Trailer

By now the fans should really have worked out that Mark Hamill isn't going to give them any Star Wars: Episode IX material, especially not over Twitter where the actor is in full troll mode. And sure enough, when the star announced that he’d soon be releasing an exclusive trailer photo, plenty of his followers sensed a trick, and in that regard, the man did not disappoint.

As well as tweeting a photo of a Star Wars storage trailer, Hamill shared an image from his mischievous younger days, explaining his two pics as follows:

“Here it is as promised (& who didn’t see THIS coming?)

A) An #EXCLUSIVE #StarWarsTrailer photo!!

B) Bonus vintage photo of #TrollMasterHamill (who’s considering retirement now that it’s impossible to trick you nerds!) #EpNeinFootageAvailable”

Though the next Star Wars movie is still over a year away from coming out, Troll Master Hamill has already had plenty of fun messing with his followers, with the actor just last week responding to a fan question about the official title of Episode IX with the claim that it’s, well, “Episode IX.”

Of course, just like the rest of the cast for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming film, Hamill is pretty much prohibited from offering any details on next year’s release. A few days ago, the star recalled how Lucasfilm’s spoiler security tactics have seriously intensified for these last few films, explaining how he isn’t even allowed to keep the script with him overnight.

As for when the real trailer could be coming our way, the current hearsay is that we’ll see some footage by Christmas, though we’ve yet to receive any confirmation that Lucasfilm is planning this unveiling in the next couple of weeks. Either way, we’ll see Luke Skywalker in action when Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20th, 2019, but until then, you can expect Hamill to keep finding new opportunities to mess with his fans.
