Yahoo has premiered a new motion poster for Lars Von Trier‘s Melancholia, featuring stars Kirsten Dunst and Alexander Skarsgard with sparkly constellations on their faces, promoting the film which can currently be seen On Demand.
This isn’t the first poster for Melancholia, rather it follows a trough of character posters. However, this is definitely the coolest one. The image, the effects, and the music seem to truly capture the mood of the film and almost anyone could be enticed to see Melancholia after seeing these beautiful stars.
Melancholia has gathered a lot of drama recently concerning controversial comments from Von Trier, perhaps this poster is an attempt to promote the film in a more positive light.
One thing does stand out in my mind concerning this poster. Alexander Skarsgard, known for his vampire role in True Blood, is sparkling like Edward Cullen in Twilight. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but could it be more than a mere conicidence?
