Movie Adaptation Of Mark Millar’s Superior Gets A Writing Team

There's been talk of bringing Superior to the big screen for years now, but like Nemesis, so much time has passed that many fans started thinking it would never become a reality. There were rumours about Matthew Vaughn possibly directing at one point, and while we know that the adaptation of Mark Millar and Leinil Yu's story has been set up at 20th Century Fox, it's been a long time since anything solid was revealed.

There’s been talk of bringing Superior to the big screen for years now, but like Nemesis, so much time has passed that many fans started thinking it would never become a reality. There were rumours about Matthew Vaughn possibly directing at one point, and while we know that the adaptation of Mark Millar and Leinil Yu’s story has been set up at 20th Century Fox, it’s been a long time since anything solid was revealed.

Today, however, it was announced that the writing team of Brandon and Phillip Murphy have been hired to tackle Superior for the studio, while Tarquin Pack and Matthew Vaughn are attached to produce.

For those of you unfamiliar with the property, Superior focuses on a 12 year old boy with multiple sclerosis who is granted one wish by an alien monkey. He chooses to become his favourite comic book movie superhero, Superior, but there’s a massive twist along the way, and things play out much differently than expected. The seven issue series was published between 2010 and 2012, and is the latest in a long line of Millarworld adaptations.

A director and release date for Superior have not yet been announced, but we’ll keep you posted when we hear more.
