Mysterio Spider-Man: Far From Home

Mysterio’s Fishbowl Helmet Confirmed For Spider-Man: Far From Home

A few weeks ago, we finally got our first look at Mysterio in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home, as Jake Gyllenhaal (or maybe it was his stunt double) was spotted on the set of the sequel in costume as Quentin Beck, the master illusionist who's one of Spidey's most persistent foes in the comics. The costume he was in looked surprisingly faithful to the villain's usual appearance, too, except for one thing. He was missing the iconic fishbowl helmet.

Obviously, fans will be crushed if the admittedly silly-looking helmet doesn’t show up in the film, so we imagine the costume designers have found a way for it to work in the more grounded world of the MCU. And while we still don’t know how they’ll do that, we can at least confirm today that yes, the helmet will be making an appearance.

MCU Cosmic has spotted some Dr. Pepper cans which you can see below, and though they don’t reveal the character’s full suit, they do show off a very familiar looking silhouette. Sure, it’s not the final design, but there’s enough there to confirm that Mysterio will be donning the fishbowl when we see him in Far From Home.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Mysterio’s a gifted, and very under-appreciated special effects guru who wants to become a bona fide supervillain. In the source material, he dreams up all sorts of illusions and tricks to counter Spidey’s abilities and we can’t wait to see the two of them square off against each other in the upcoming sequel.

But it won’t only be Mysterio that Spider-Man has to contend with, as there’ve been rumors going around that he won’t be the only major villain in the film, with Molten Man, Hydro-Man, and the Chameleon also being mentioned as possibilities. Throw in some appearances from Nick Fury and Maria Hill and it seems like Mr. Parker may have more complications to deal with than ever on his trip through Europe in Spider-Man: Far From Home, though he’ll evidently still have some time on his hands to hang out with friends and, of course, strike up a romance with MJ.
