New Hi-Res Image Of Oliva Munn As Psylocke In X-Men: Apocalypse Released

There are a long list of heroes and villains comic book fans are looking forward to seeing in X-Men: Apocalypse, though it's Psylocke who is no doubt somewhere near the top of that. Played by Olivia Munn, the fan-favourite character's big screen debut is long overdue (let's just forget the version from X-Men: The Last Stand) and she looks incredible.

There are a long list of heroes and villains comic book fans are looking forward to seeing in X-Men: Apocalypse, though it’s Psylocke who is no doubt somewhere near the top of that. Played by Olivia Munn, the fan-favourite character’s big screen debut is long overdue (let’s just forget the version from X-Men: The Last Stand), and she looks absolutely incredible so far.

That’s evident from the image below, but comments from Munn prove that she’s most definitely the right choice to play this member of the Four Horsemen in X-Men: Apocalypse:

“I’ve loved Psylocke for so long. She’s a really, really strong badass female character in this comic book world where a lot of times the women don’t get to be strong and badass. You see a lot of superheroes [who] don’t always want to kill, and they’ll avoid it if they can. She’s never had a problem killing, and I like that she was the bad guy that had no problem being the bad guy. She’s telekinetic and telepathic so she can read your mind. She can create anything with her mind. To win any fights, she can just create a mountain and have it fall down on you, but she chooses to create a sword so she can kill up close and personal. I always thought that was really cool and badass.”

It was Munn who pushed for Psylocke to have her iconic purple costume in X-Men: Apocalypse, and it’s fair to say that she looks fantastic in it.

As well as returning cast members Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: Apocalypse will also introduce Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Lana Condor, Oscar Isaac, Ben Hardy and Olivia Munn among others. The movie is set to be released on May 27th, 2016.
