New Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Teases More Of Peter’s Vacation

Despite having apparently spun his last web at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, Tom Holland's amazing wallcrawler is set to return this July for Spider-Man: Far From Home, which will see Peter Parker go on a European summer vacation with his friends, which - typical Parker luck - ends up going off the rails when he's roped into being a hero again.

While fans are currently mostly thinking about Captain Marvelwhich arrives in a few weeks, this new international trailer for Far From Home reminds us not to forget about the web-slinger’s upcoming sequel. The minute-long teaser doesn’t offer too much in the way of new footage, but does reframe some of the most notable moments from previous trailers and is certainly worth a watch.

The trailer opens with a fun scene previously exclusive to the first international preview, which sees Peter’s suitcase inspected at airport security – revealing that Aunt May’s packed his Spider-Man suit for him. Good thing she did, as he’s forced to use it when Nick Fury hijacks his holiday and enlists him in the fight against the enormous Elementals that are plaguing Europe.

Much like previous trailers, this one ends with the reveal that Spidey will have competition on the hero front, as Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio appears to be the new masked crusader on the block. Seeing as Quentin Beck’s a classic supervillain in the comics, though, fans have already seen through the fishbowl-headed crook’s ruse and have theorized that there could be a “Syndrome from The Incredibles” sort of plot going on here.

Not that all of the sequel’s secrets have been blown, though. For one, we’re still super excited to see how and why Spidey’s new suits come into play. As glimpsed in this trailer, Peter will swap his previous Stark-made suit for a modified black-lined version and then an all-over dark costume that we’re calling his stealth suit (Into the Spider-Verse‘s Spider-Man Noir would approve of that look). Plus, there are all sorts of theories about how the movie might tie into Avengers: Endgame, and we’ll find out which of them are right when Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters on July 5th.
