It’s looking increasingly likely that Ray Fisher and the DC Extended Universe are about to go their separate ways.

Amid reports that Fisher’s on-screen hero, Cyborg, has been earmarked as a TV-exclusive character for Doom Patrol, one 4Chan user (h/t CBM) is alleging that the actor is ready to cut ties with Warner Bros. due to the studio’s handling of Cyborg in Justice League.

Not only that, but Ray Fisher is said to be “very upset” by the decision to pull his character from Flashpoint. And don’t get us started on the fact that Warner has since removed its standalone Cyborg movie from the DCEU slate. The character-driven spinoff had been targeting a release in 2020, where it would have been rubbing shoulders with The Batman and maybe – just maybe – that planned Birds of Prey movie.

All of this has led many to conclude that Fisher’s days in the biomechanical suit are numbered, and that’s despite only notching a single appearance in the DC Extended Universe.

To his credit, it wasn’t too long ago when the actor was discussing future DCEU roles, so perhaps this rumor, one that can be traced back to 4Chan, is nothing more than complete and utter hogwash? It’s too soon to tell, but with Warner Bros. moving full steam ahead on the likes of Aquaman and Shazam!, surely it won’t be too much longer before Ray Fisher’s DC fate is revealed, for better or worse…

Perhaps the actor is pissed that his DCEU role has been downsized quite dramatically in the aftermath of Justice League? Chalk that up as innocent conjecture for now, even if it presents some interesting food for thought.
