It looks as though Sony Pictures have elected to start this week off with a bang, teasing fans with footage from the latest installments in their most popular action-horror franchises. If two pulse pounding TV spots for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter weren't enough for you, we are also able to present this new clip from the highly anticipated Underworld: Blood Wars.

It looks as though Sony Pictures have elected to start this week off with a bang, teasing fans with footage from the latest installments in their most popular action-horror franchises. If two pulse pounding TV spots for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter weren’t enough for you, we’re also able to present this new clip from the highly anticipated Underworld: Blood Wars.

The footage provided sees Selene engage in a sparring match of sorts to presumingly showcase her skills as a Death Dealer to those in attendance. Pro Wrestling and MMA fans may perk up when noticing it takes place in a cage, simultaneously adding qualities both foreboding and exciting.

What we should all take notice of is her abruptly losing consciousness, which probably has less to do with low blood sugar levels and more to do with a possible change she’s going through that was teased in a previously released trailer. One would assume the creative minds behind the series are continuing to find ways to keep the story fresh, so fuelling any speculation in the final weeks leading to the film’s release will do nothing but build the anticipation shared by moviegoers.

For more information, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

The next installment in the blockbuster franchise, UNDERWORLD: BLOOD WARS follows Vampire death dealer, Selene (Kate Beckinsale) as she fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. With her only allies, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance), she must stop the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Underworld: Blood Wars arrives in theaters on January 6, 2017.
