New Short Film Pits Michael Myers Against Jason Voorhees, And It’s Epic

When you think about it, it's actually a bit crazy that Jason Voorhees hasn't squared off against Michael Myers yet. I mean, they're two of the most iconic horror characters around and in this particular genre, crossovers and mash-ups are a dime a dozen. Understandably, fans have wanted to see a fight between the two slashers ever since their inception and while there's still no studio movies out there that will deliver that, we do have the next best thing.

Written and directed by Mason C. McDonald, above and below you’ll see Michael Myers Versus Jason Voorhees, a new short film that pits the two horror icons against one another. Split into 3 parts, it’s bloody, violent and full of nods to both the Halloween and Friday the 13th franchises. In other words, if you’re a fan of either of these characters, or just the horror genre in general, you’re definitely going to like what’s here.

As for where you can see these two legends next in a more official capacity, well, Michael will actually be back on the big screen quite soon, as there’s a new reboot brewing in development. Headed up by Danny McBride and David Gordon Green, it’ll be with us this October and is said to be taking the series back to its roots. Details beyond that are scarce, but the film is certainly coming together quickly.

Jason, on the other hand, isn’t doing too hot. Though a reboot was planned, it’s since been cancelled and when you combine that with the legal issues surrounding the franchise, it doesn’t look too likely that we’ll be seeing the slasher in theatres at any point in the near future.

Thankfully, then, we’ve got Michael Myers Versus Jason Voorhees to tide us over. Be sure to give it a watch and as always, let us know your thoughts on it in the comments section down below.
