Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the creative twosome behind Crazy, Stupid, Love and I Love You Phillip Morris, Focus picks up when the former lovers, Nicky (Smith) and Jess (Robbie), stumble across each other in Buenos Aires. Today sees the release of the film’s second trailer and a couple of new posters, to throw us back into the steamy and duplicitous world that these characters inhabit.

The tone of this latest preview zones in on the chemistry between the couple, which is where the bulk of the chuckles stem. For the most part, the angle here is firmly placed on drama – with a few choice action bits thrown in. In less capable hands this type of con flick would probably be gearing up for a straight-to-video release, but it’s the two leads who elevate this into a must-see pic for the new year.

Before Focus opens February 27, 2015, check out the new trailer above and take a peek at the new posters below.

Will Smith stars as Nicky, a seasoned master of misdirection who becomes romantically involved with novice con artist Jess (Margot Robbie). As he’s teaching her the tricks of the trade, she gets too close for comfort and he abruptly breaks it off. Three years later, the former flame—now an accomplished femme fatale—shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high stakes racecar circuit. In the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she throws his plans for a loop…and the consummate con man off his game.
