While the MCU seems to have glossed over a good part of Peter Parker’s origin story, an eagle-eyed fan may have pieced together a (tragic) part of the puzzle from the latest Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer.
As we all know from the several iterations of Spider-Man throughout the years, Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben is killed on the night his web-slinging nephew partakes in a wrestling match to test his new powers. In the latest spoiler-filled trailer, a poster has been spotted behind Happy Hogan that’s likely from that same match.
Zooming in, it’s not super easy to read anything. But you can clearly pick out a date between the pixels: August 10th – the same day, as the previous trailers have told us, Peter Parker was born.
So if you put two and two together, you come to the same conclusion as Twitter user @ElawnMosk:

Yes, it appears that Peter goes to fight Crusher Hogan, refuses to stop a robbery after he gets ripped off, and watches in horror as the thief ends up killing Uncle Ben all on the same day, his birthday.
Of course, it’s very possible that the MCU doesn’t address any of this – inserting Spider-Man into Captain America: Civil War three years ago from out of nowhere, it doesn’t seem like Peter Parker’s entire history is one Marvel’s super interested in telling – but regardless, it’s a nice homage to what came before. And this being the second film in the series, as well as the friendly neighborhood superhero’s fourth time up on the MCU stage, it’s far less likely that Spider-Man: Far From Home will delve too deep into the origin.
With that in mind, the poster’s presence in the upcoming movie gives me the impression that Sony will find their own way to tell Peter’s story, but probably farther down the line.
