Star Wars: Episode IX Teaser Could Be Arriving On Christmas Day

This month has already been a busy one for rumors and reports on next year's Star Wars: Episode IX, but while it’s nice to get some idea of what may or may not be unfolding in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming trilogy-closer, the fans would probably appreciate some official footage, and according to the recent hearsay, we might be getting just that in the coming weeks by way of the film’s first teaser.

With this unverified claim in mind, it’s understandable that some folks would have their interests piqued by the new report from Making Star Wars, which alleges that some sort of Star Wars-related promotional content will be coming our way on Christmas morning. Apparently, one of the site’s sources was at Disney World, where a Disney Channel commercial was being filmed in which the following line could be very clearly heard:

“And stay tuned for a first new look at a galaxy far, far away!”

Assuming the source is legit, it sounds like we’ll be getting some sort of teaser on the 25th, but we can’t yet confirm if it’s definitely for Episode IX. As the MSW report goes on to stress, this commercial might just be a first look at the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge area, which is set to open next year at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, as well as in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.

So while this could well be a false alarm, we can certainly hold out hope that the first Star Wars: Episode IX trailer will be coming our way at least as soon as Christmas. Either way, we’ll be seeing the whole thing when the film hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
