Ever since the title of Rian Johnson’s follow-up to The Force Awakens was officially announced as Star Wars: The Last Jedi a few weeks back, galaxy far, far away fans have been chomping at the bit for their first glimpse of some footage from the highly anticipated sequel. Speculation (and, frankly, common sense) pointed to that first teaser being screened at Star Wars Celebration Orlando in April, and sure enough, it’s now been confirmed that Johnson will be in attendance.
StarWars.com has announced that the director will appear alongside Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy on Friday, April 14, for a special panel discussion. Though specific details on what fans can expect to see are still under wraps, there are sure to be some awesome special guests and a few other surprises, too. The first trailer for the film has not actually been confirmed, but we’ll almost certainly get some kind of behind-the-scenes look at the making of The First Jedi, and/or possibly a showcase reel.
Johnson himself took to his Instagram account shortly after the news hit today and shared the below black and white set image of a group of First Order Stormtroopers. It doesn’t reveal anything noteworthy, but it’s an exciting tease of what’s to come nonetheless.
We expect to hear more about Disney’s plans for Star Wars Celebration over the coming months, but in the meantime, head on down to the comments section and let us know what you’re hoping to see in the first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
