Last month we reported that Steven Spielberg had met with screenwriter Mark Protosevich (Thor) to discuss the possibility of rebooting the Jurassic Park franchise. Now comes the official word straight from the man himself, speaking from Comic-Con. When asked about the rumored Jurassic Park 4 Spielberg replied with the following:

“We have a story, I can happily announce right now. We have a writer… Hopefully, we’ll be making ‘Jurassic Park 4’ in the near future. In the next two or three years.”

So Jurassic Park 4 is actually happening! No other comment on the film was given and there’s still no news on whether this will be a reboot or a sequel. Plenty of things can go wrong before this ever hits the big screen but if Spielberg wants it he usually gets it.

Are you ready for Jurassic Park 4?
