New Spider-Man: Far From Home Set Pic May Give Us A Big Phase 4 MCU Clue

With Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders spotted on the set of Spider-Man: Far From Home, it’s evident that a mini- S.H.I.E.L.D. reunion is on the cards for the upcoming superhero flick. But to go one further, a fresh piece from MCU Cosmic speculates that the organisation that once played such a central role in the MCU could be coming back in a big way.

With Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders spotted on the set of Spider-Man: Far From Home, it’s evident that a mini- S.H.I.E.L.D. reunion is on the cards for the upcoming superhero flick. But to go one further, a fresh piece from MCU Cosmic speculates that the organization that once played such a central role in the MCU could be coming back in a big way.

While a recent set video from Peter Parker’s next solo outing sent the internet into a flurry of excitement with its first look at Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, this new theory is more concerned with the ominous-looking black cars that pull onto the scene. Indeed, this is just the sort of entrance that S.H.I.E.L.D. might have made in their phenomenon-loving Phase 1 heyday, but it’s the latest set pic of Peter in his black stealth suit that truly teases an intriguing turn of events.

If you look real close at the upper-right chest area of this dark outfit, you’ll see what some have argued to be the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo, implying that Peter himself might be doing a little work for the organization in next year’s release. Moreover, since Far From Home is said to pick up right where Avengers 4 leaves off, it stands to reason that the universe-changing events of this era-closing movie could be what brings about the return of S.H.I.E.L.D. for Phase 4.

Either way, after Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Peter were all turned to dust at the end of Infinity War, you can at least expect Avengers 4 to offer some explanation of how these characters could be back from the dead when it comes out on May 3rd, 2019. After that, Peter will be free to collaborate with S.H.I.E.L.D., fight some bad guys, and hopefully take the time to soak in some charming European scenery when Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5th.
