There really is no stopping The Chainsmokers, it seems. Even though their hit single "Closer" has been dethroned at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 list, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart don't seem to be slowing down any time soon.

There really is no stopping The Chainsmokers, it seems. Even though their hit single “Closer” has been dethroned at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 list, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.

The duo appeared at the American Music Awards tonight and despite going up against tough competition like Major Lazer and Calvin Harris, they emerged victorious, taking home the honor for “Favorite Artist – Electronic Dance Music.” As if that wasn’t enough, they also hit the stage to perform “Closer” with Halsey, delivering another great live rendition of the track.

Actually, to be more specific, it was only Drew who showed his face, as him and Halsey did their thing with Travis Barker joining them on the drums at the end. It was an explosive little surprise and one that certainly elevated the performance.

Between this and their recent Collage EP, not to mention the new music video for “All We Know,” it’s been a pretty huge month for the guys. And, with Alex and Drew set to appear at Countdown NYE in December, it looks like they intend on continuing that momentum right up to the end of 2016.

You can check out the aforementioned AMA performance in the video down below and once you’ve done so, be sure to let us know if you’re still rocking out to The Chainsmokers‘ “Closer” by leaving us a comment.
