Daft Punk And The Weeknd Have A Follow Up To “Starboy”

If you were one of those fans who felt that The Weeknd’s collaboration with Daft Punk, titled “Starboy,” wasn’t in line with your expectations from the robotic DJs, there may still be hope yet. Speaking with The Wall Street Journal, The Weeknd revealed in a new interview that he has another song with the duo. The R&B singer had previously hinted at a follow up collab on Instagram, and we’re excited to have confirmation of another single with Daft Punk.

The details regarding the second collaboration have yet to be revealed, but the interview states that “the remarkably spontaneous sessions yielded two songs on the album,” referring to The Weeknd’s forthcoming Starboy, due out later this month.

In addition to the major reveal, The Weeknd also discussed the creative nature of his collaborators from “Starboy,” offering up an unparalleled insight into their working process.

Their studio is like a spaceship, there’s a lot of gear. But the way they make music, the way they explain it, is very cinematic. It’s like they’re reading a page out of a novel—‘We want to make sure that at the end, it feels like the sun’s coming up, and maybe there’s a car chase.’ They can get technical, but it was interesting how they visualize making music.

It’s unclear at this point if the song will be released as a single leading up to the album’s release, but The Weeknd’s next collaboration with Daft Punk will for sure be released on November 25 as one of the eighteen tracks on Starboy.
