It looks like 50 Cent will be the next rapper to attempt to stay relevant by piggybacking on the success of an EDM artist. He and none other than David Guetta took to social media on the evening of the Billboard Music Awards to hint at an upcoming collaboration in the works.

It looks like 50 Cent will be the next rapper to attempt to stay relevant by piggybacking on the success of an EDM artist. He and none other than David Guetta took to social media on the evening of the Billboard Music Awards to hint at an upcoming collaboration in the works.

Before his performance, organizers tweeted a photo of Guetta and 50 Cent’s seating arrangement in the audience showing that the two would be sitting nearby one another, cleverly quipping “A good mix.”

Afterwards, 50 Cent uploaded a photo of himself and Guetta, with a caption reading: “my man New Music on the way” (sic).

Guetta himself is no stranger to collaborating with hip-hop artists; long before “We Found Love” ft. Rihanna saw unprecedented mainstream success, he released records like “Nation Rap” alongside artists like fellow Frenchman Sydney Duteil. EDM’s king of crossover could be onto something with his next big project, as 50 Cent’s recent obscurity may translate into an untapped fan base.
