Over the last several months, fans have been treated to a consistent supply of unreleased deadmau5 material as the Canadian producer gears up for the release of his forthcoming studio album. We’ve already heard plenty of great tracks come out of his regular live streams, and now we’re hearing the full version of the previously circulated “Analogical” thanks to a live rip of one of his recent Twitch broadcasts.

“Analogical” features all the hallmarks we’ve come to expect from deadmau5’s latest work, opening with a spiralling synth arpeggio layered over haunting ambience. The first half of the track keeps things minimalistic, holding back the drums as somber melodies continue to evolve, before a stark bassline takes over. After the lengthy introduction, deadmau5 injects trip hop vibes into the track with a steady rolling beat, similar to previous efforts like “Hyperlandia.”

With such a wealth of unreleased material, we can’t wait for deadmau5 to release his next album, which he’s previously referred to as “pretty much” finished. Thankfully, in addition to all the teasers we’ve heard so far, mau5trap just released a dedicated “Strobe” remix EP, which should hold most fans over until the new record arrives.
