Kaskade has been making some interesting remix choices as of late. Earlier in the summer he took on Alicia Keys with a future house version of her song “In Common,” and now he’s teamed up with up and coming duo L’Tric for a re-imagining of Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 hit single “Dreams.”

While the remix seems a bit odd on paper, the results are actually rather seamless as Kaskade and L’Tric transport Christine McVie’s husky voice into the world of dance music, backed by soulful synths and kinetic rhythms. The original song featured an upbeat, funky vibe and the vocal hooks work well in the context of the new production. The remix manages to enhance the emotional power behind the song’s lovesick lyrics, before diving headfirst into future house drops with rumbling basslines and unstoppable beats.

Kaskade and L’Tric’s “Dreams” remix had previously been heard on the live front and fans waited patiently for the song to become available for streaming. Luckily for us, they’ve generously offered up the rework as a free download, and you can grab your own copy here.
