2016 is turning out to be a year of firsts for progressive house DJ/producer KSHMR. The American-born artist of Kashmiri-Indian descent released his first solo track on Beatport in the form of “Wild Card,” and he’s followed it up with the announcement of a debut EP titled The Lion Across The Field.

Interestingly, the album draws inspiration from the children’s book of its namesake that KSHMR himself wrote a number of years ago. Over the course of his headlining sets at the Sahara Tent during both weekends of Coachella, he will be showcasing the composition in its entirety along with specially tailored visual and stage elements.

So, there you have it: Apparently KSHMR wrote a children’s book one time. Somehow, though, that doesn’t seem all that out of character.

The electronic music adaptation of The Lion Across The Field is slated for release on May 13th through Spinnin’ Records. As with most releases of the sort, however, fans should still look out for individual tracks from the effort in the month between.
