Lil B Announces His New Album Will be Titled ‘I’m Gay’

No this is not a late April Fool's joke or a personal jab at the "Based God". Lil B is actually titling his next album 'I'm Gay'. This may not be a total shock to some after the rapper released a freestyle onto the net called "I'm a Fag, I'm a Lesbian" and also tweeted the infamous message, "If Kanye West Dosent [sic] Acknowledge Me Over Twitter And Work With Me On Music, When i see him im going to fuck him in the ass"

No this is not a late April Fool’s joke or a personal jab at the “Based God”. Lil B is actually titling his next album ‘I’m Gay’. This may not be a total shock to some after the rapper released a freestyle onto the net called “I’m a Fag, I’m a Lesbian” and also tweeted the infamous message, “If Kanye West Dosent [sic] Acknowledge Me Over Twitter And Work With Me On Music, When i see him im going to fuck him in the ass”

While this would be a revolutionary and brave way for a rapper to come out of the closet, Lil B is actually not gay, contrary to the title of the album. This makes the whole thing pretty confusing but he explains in an interview with Complex his logic behind the controversial title.

It’s a touchy subject. I respect the hell out of gays and the gay community. I’m not a gay man. I don’t agree with sex with another man or fucking another man or giving blow jobs to another guy. That’s not my thing. I’d rather fuck a girl, fuck her in her ass, fuck her in the mouth or something.” He continues, “People get scared when they hear the gay word, but when you truly know yourself, you gonna be good. Say for instance you’re watching a porno, right. And, you’re jacking off and shit, and some gay shit pops up. And you’re like, ‘Oh, shit!’ Either you’re gonna look at that shit, or you’re not gonna look at it and you’re not gonna give a fuck about it. Like, some gay shit can pop up on me, and I don’t give a fuck about it. I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s that gay shit. Get that shit off. Back to the bitches.’ But some muthafuckers are in denial. Some dudes are really in denial. They’re like, ‘What’s that? Ohhhh!’ And they hate themselves for that. They’re like, ‘What’s wrong with me?’ You feel me? And these are motherfuckers that’s around us. That’s not saying shit. So, it’s like, I’m a faggot because I’m so not a faggot. I can say I’m a faggot. I can say I’m the gayest bitch on Earth. And I’m so not gay, it’s obvious. I know from my deepest core that I’m very far from gay. So I can say I’m the bitch queen that fucks cows. I’m not

Sure Lil B, whatever you say. To me, it sounds like a publicity stunt similar to Nas wanting to name his album ‘Nigger’, which ended up releasing in 2008 simply as ‘Untitled’. The difference being that Nas is actually capable of making a thematic album worthy of the controversial title whereas so far, Lil B has not shown to me that he is capable of carrying the weight of such a controversial theme. Only time will tell however.

What do you all think of this title? Is Lil B taking the first respectable step away from the homophobia running rampant in hip hop culture? Or is this simply a way of getting free publicity? Let us know what you think in the comments.
