Back in August, Skrillex and Wiwek made their first foray into the world of cinema with their debut short film Still In The Cage. Utilizing footage from that film, the two producer’s are now offering up an official music video for their sonic collaboration “Killa” off Wiwek’s The Free And Rebellious EP.
The “Killa” music video kicks off with a group of characters locked in a cage in the middle of a foreboding jungle, before some haunting tribal figures erupt into spastic dance moves set to the soundtrack of the tune’s rowdy drop.
The video features arresting imagery and striking cinematography, with pieces of the larger narrative from Still In The Cage interspersed throughout its duration. The blaring jungle terror rhythms of “Killa” fit the film’s dark style well, and the music and visuals converge into a singular expression.
With a head spinning barrage of powerful visuals and a thought provoking storyline, the footage from Skrillex and Wiwek’s short film is adapted perfectly into music video form and is sure to leave a lasting impression.
