Peak Time is an idol survival competition that is broadcast on JTBC. The show looks to provide opportunities to different K-pop groups that are facing hardship, like disbanded groups, unpopular groups, inactive groups, or groups that have recently debuted. The show began airing on Feb. 15, 2023, but fans have been looking forward to it for a very long time.
Some of the hype surrounding the show is due to famous personalities like Tiffany, Jay Park, Kyuhyun, Mino, and Ryan Jhun being judges on the show. Fans are also looking forward to their favorite groups and idols gaining popularity and recognition.
So without further ado, here are some of the K-pop groups on Peak Time:
VANNER
VANNER is a five-member boy group under VT Entertainment. The group consists of Taehwan, Gon, Hyeseong, Ahxian, and YoungKwang. Before their debut, the group promoted and performed in Japan. VANNER made its official debut on Valentine’s Day in 2019 with the album V. The group is still active, with their single album Take Off marking their last comeback in 2022.
The BOSS (DNGA)
The BOSS, also known as DNGA, used to be a five-member boy group formed under Open World Entertainment. The group consisted of Karam, Mika, Injun, Hyunmin, and Jay, with Mika and Hyunmin leaving the group years later. The BOSS made their debut in 2010 with the song “Admiring Boy.” Despite having only three members since 2018, the group has remained active.
BTL
BTL, short for Beyond the Limit, was an eight-member boy group under Kiroy Company. The group consisted of Jean paul, Robin, Jay, q.l, Max, Aelen, and Yeon. BTL made its debut in 2014 with the single album Beyond the Limit. The group officially disbanded in 2015 and has since been inactive.
MASC
MASC, short for Masculine, debuted as a four-member group under J Planet Entertainment. The group made its debut in 2016 with the EP Strange. MASC originally consisted of Woosoo, ACE, 26, and Heejae, but 26 left the group in 2018. In Oct. 2020, the group announced its disbandment through a YouTube video.
DKB
DKB, short for Dark Brown Eyes, is a nine-member boy group under Brave Entertainment. The group made its debut in 2020 with the EP Youth and the lead single “Sorry Mama.” DKB consists of D-1, Teo, GK, E-Chan, Lune, Heechan, Junseo, Harry-June, and Yuku. The group is still active, and their last comeback was in 2022 with the EP Autumn.
BLK
BLK, short for Beyond, Limit, Key, was a seven-member boy group under BYKING Entertainment. The group made its debut in 2017 with the EP Into BLK Part 1. BLK consisted of Taebin, D.A., Sorim, I, Ilkyung, MingMing, and Inno. But the group has been inactive ever since the announcement of its disbandment in 2018 through a post on their fan café.
BAE173
BAE173 is a nine-member group created and managed by PocketDol Studio. The group made its debut in 2020 with the EP Intersection: Spark and its title track “Crush on You”. BAE173 consists of Hangyul, Yoojun, J-Min, Yuzin, Doha, Bit, Junseo, Dohyon, and Youngseo. In 2022, they released the EP Odyssey: Dash.
AIMERS
AIMERS is a six-member boy group formed under Hyper Rhythm Entertainment. The group consists of Eunjun, Yoel, Seunghwan, Wooyoung, Seunghyun, and Doryun. AIMERS made its debut in 2022 with the EP Stage 0: Betting Starts.
24K
24K is a six-member boy group under Choeun Entertainment. The group debuted in 2012 with the EP Hurry Up. The group members consist of Takeru, Xiwoo, Kiyoung, Imchan, Yuma, and Changsun. The group’s last comeback was in 2018 with the EP Bonnie N Clyde.
ATBO
ATBO, short for At the Beginning of Originality, is a seven-member boy group under IST Entertainment. The group was created through the IST survival competition The Origin- A, B, or What?. ATBO consists of Ryu Junmin, Oh Junseok, Bae Hyunjun, Jeong Seunghwan, Seok Rakwon, Kim Yeonkyu, and Won Bin. The group made its official debut in 2022 with the EP The Beginning: 開花.
GHOST9
GHOST9 is a seven-member boy group under Maroo Entertainment. The group made its debut in 2020 with the EP Pre Episode 1: Door, and its lead single ”Think of Dawn”. GHOST9 consists of Choi Junseong, Prince, Lee Kang Sung, Son Junhyung, Lee Jin Woo, Shin, and Lee Woo Jin. In 2022, they released the EP Arcade: V.
M.O.N.T
M.O.N.T is a boy group made up of three members under FM Entertainment. The trio made their debut in 2017 with the digital single “Sorry”. M.O.N.T consists of the members: Narachan, Bitsaeon, and Roda. The group had its last comeback in 2020 with the EP Listen Up! before two members enlisted for mandatory military service.
