From musicians, and magicians, to illusionists, dancers, and ventriloquists, America’s Got Talent is filled with interesting and talented people. Many people go on stage to showcase their talents to the country in hopes of not only having their talent recognized but to win the grand prize of $1 million and become the next big thing.
Throughout the show’s extensive run, there have been instances in which contestants who are already making a living with their talent could go on the program and compete against the other performers who are just showcasing their talents for the first time. One such group are season 18 contestants, Steel Panther.
Who are Steel Panther, the band that auditioned for America’s Got Talent?
Steel Panther is an established glam metal band from Los Angeles and has been together since 2000. This musical group consists of four members; Michael Starr (lead vocals), Spyder (bass player), Satchel (guitarists), and Stix Zadinia (drummer). This group has been making music full-time, well before America’s Got Talent, and has released six studio albums.
Steel Panther have received a handful of music awards throughout their music career. They’ve won “Live Act of the Year” in the 2012 and 2013 Loudwire Music Awards, and 2014’s “Video of the Year” at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. Aside from their musical success, they are still touring internationally. According to the group’s website, they will be performing in Germany for a week before performing in the USA in July.
According to Steel Panther’s audition video, they believe that America’s Got Talent is the perfect way to promote their band and have their music reach other potential fans in the country, and of course, they’re gunning for the win. Steel Panther wowed both the crowd and the judges with the song ‘Eyes of the Panther’ during their audition. The group received a standing ovation when they graced the stage, and it will be interesting to see how they are received overall.
